Urban Tree Merchants
Urban Tree Merchants, led by the husband-and-wife team Kelly and Caleb Geer, are dedicated to transforming trees into functional furniture. Their mission is embodied in their recent project, where they responsibly selected, felled, and reclaimed multiple old-growth trees from the property before construction began. These trees were skillfully crafted into trellises that adorn each building’s front porch, as well as usable furniture for the leasing center and common areas.
Cedar Crest Community Center
A longstanding pillar of the Cedar Crest community for 50 years, Behind Every Door acquired the adjacent property in 2021 and has since completed a comprehensive $15.0 million renovation of the entire facility. Generous donations from sports stars like Clayton Kershaw, Jordan Spieth, and Scottie Scheffler, along with contributions from organizations such as the Dallas Mavericks Foundation, have transformed it into a premier community destination. With the essential resources they offer, residents will have free access to a health clinic, counseling services, a full-service bank and free after school programs for kids. The center also features a basketball court, football field and golf simulator promoting an active lifestyle and fostering connections with neighbors.
